We, the operators of Lofsdalen's Fjällhotell, also manage the restaurants Bleck in Södermalm and Hellas Storstugan in Nacka Nature Reserve in Stockholm. We took over the hotel in the spring of 2021 and breathed new life into it through extensive renovations, driven by a strong ambition to create a truly exceptional mountain hotel with a warm, enjoyable, and laid-back atmosphere.
Our aim is to establish a hotel where we ourselves would love to stay while in the mountains – a place brimming with vitality, activity, and a plethora of things to do. And not just during the daylight hours when the lifts are open. We're constructing a toboggan slope, offering wood carving courses, arranging an ice skating rink, and grooving to DJs and live performances. Our après-ski experience is something beyond the ordinary and delightful for the whole family. For those inclined, we also offer table tennis, billiards, and a cinema room for the kids.
In our restaurant, we offer Alpine-inspired cuisine with a Swedish twist, with a strong emphasis on vegetarian options. It's about delivering high quality without the pretentiousness. We prepare everything from scratch, including homemade sausages, freshly baked bread, locally caught perch, and ingredients sourced from handpicked local producers.
The ski slope in Lofsdalen boasts an excellent sun-soaked location and a nearly 500-meter vertical drop – the fifth highest in the country. Additionally, there are 122 km of well-maintained cross-country ski trails and ample opportunities for snowmobiling. During the summer months, there's just as much to do, including mountain biking, downhill activities, and a multitude of fantastic hiking trails.

GETTING TO LOFSDALENS FJÄLLHOTELL
Lofsdalen is located in southern Härjedalen, 500 kilometers from Stockholm. You can reach it by car, bus, train, or plane.
CAR
From Malmö/Helsingborg From Malmö, it's 880 kilometers to fantastic skiing. Drive north on E4 to Jönköping. Take Route 47 towards Mullsjö. Route 26 to Mariestad – Kristinehamn – Filipstad – Lesjöfors – Mora. Route 45 from Mora – Orsa – Sveg. Route 84 from Sveg to Linsell. Turn off in Linsell towards Lofsdalen.
From Göteborg Pack your bags and drive 610 kilometers to lovely Härjedalen. Take Route 45 towards Lödöse – Trollhättan – Mellerud – Åmål – Säffle – Grums – Torsby – Stöllet – Malung – Mora – Orsa – Sveg. Route 84 from Sveg to Linsell. Turn off in Linsell towards Lofsdalen.
From Stockholm A ski resort near Stockholm – only 500 kilometers to the snow. Drive north on E4 from Uppsala – Gävle to Tönnebro. Route 83 via Bollnäs. Route 84 to Ljusdal – Sveg – Linsell. Turn off in Linsell towards Lofsdalen.
BUS
Härjedalingen operates buses from Stockholm to Härjedalen with stops in places like Uppsala, Gävle, Bollnäs, and Ljusdal. You can book with Mohlins Expressbussar. on selected Thursdays and Sundays during the 2022/2023 winter season to/from Lofsdalen. If Lofsdalen is not listed as a departure/arrival point, you can book to Sveg and arrange a taxi through Mohlins Taxi (additional cost).
TRAIN & BUS
The nearest railway station and airport are located in Sveg, one hour away from Lofsdalen. From Sveg, you have several transportation options.
If you choose to take the train, you can travel with Snötåget via SJ from Stockholm, passing through Mora, and arriving in Sveg. From Sveg, you can take a bus or rent a car for the final stretch, which is approximately one hour, to reach Lofsdalen. You can book train tickets through SJ with the final destination set to Lofsdalen.
For local bus services within Jämtland Härjedalen, you can use Länstrafiken. Note that some parts of this traffic may require advance booking; you can find more information on their website: https://ltr.se/.
During the winter and summer seasons, Snälltåget operates night trains from Malmö to Stockholm, with a transfer at Röjan Station. From Röjan Station, you can book a transfer with Mohlins taxi at 0680-105 00. Booking and pricing details are available on the Snälltåget website (snalltåget.se) or the SJ website (sj.se).
PLANE TO LOFSDALEN
In just 2.5 hours, you can travel from Stockholm, Arlanda, all the way to your destination.
You won't find a faster and easier way to reach the Swedish mountains.
With Jonair, you can travel to and from Sveg-Arlanda twice a day from Monday to Friday and on Sundays. Check the departure information.
